Job description

The Standard IO Operations Program Manager (OPM) will work on managing and deploying worldwide data center locations, with high efficiency and maximum customer satisfaction. The OPM will be pivotal to the dynamic expansion and management of Standard IO's edge cloud. A successful OPM is a leader and facilitator; is dynamic, driven, organized, and detail oriented; excels in program/project management; excels at streamlining processes and finding new and efficient ways to improve logistics and operations; communicates with ease at all levels; thrives in an ambiguous environment and is adept at facilitating actions and is a self starter.

Responsibilities

We're building in-house technical projects that benefit government, non-profit and private businesses by allowing them to tap into edge compute, storage, and network anywhere in the world. The OPM will report to the CEO and will be responsible for spearheading and reporting on Standard IO's key efforts in data center points of presence (POPs) expansion. This effort includes managing deployment schedules for hundreds of locations worldwide, coordinating the delivery of data center hardware, network connections from multiple internet service providers (ISP's) and managing engineering support for the successful deployment of edge locations.

Minimum Qualifications

7+ years of engineering experience

7+ years of management experience

- MS, PhD, or advance degree in Operations Research, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Industrial Engineering, Engineering, Computer Science or closely related field.

- Demonstrated experience recruiting, building, structuring, leading technical organizations, including performance management.

- Experience working in an ISP or Telecom and data center environment

- Highly organized and able to juggle many tasks without losing sight of the highest priority items

- Manage all network build and spin up sites while working with the 3rd party ISP, DC teams to track and procure all relative sites

- Work with the logistics team and engineers to plan the delivery of gear to the sites

- Manage project master tasks and help move tasks through the approval process

- Track and analyze project risks, timelines, and resources recommending improvements and implementing new standards where needed and escalating issues appropriate

- Experience working with multiple time zones and multiple cross-functional teams

- 3+ years relevant work experience as a Capacity Planner, Supply Chain Analyst, Business Analyst

- Demonstrated ability and experience to influence, develop productive working relationships, and lead technical teams and key stakeholders from different business functions

- A diverse technical acumen--actively contribute to technical discussions, proactively identify challenges and risks, working closely with engineers and product manager on addressing challenges, and form mitigation plans

- Strong expertise in Microsoft Excel & Business Intelligence tools

- Excel at planning, creating teams, overseeing execution to meet commitments, and deliver with

predictability

- Exercise technical judgment to keep goals for programs, projects and products attainable within a given timeline

- Experience in building AI/ML modeling & deploying inference
